October 13, 2016 (BOSTON) – Wellforce announced that Chris Johnson has been named Vice President of Supply Chain. A proven industry leader with more than 20 years of experience in purchasing and supply chain management, Johnson has served as Executive Director of Supply Chain for Tufts Medical Center since 2015.
In his new position, Johnson will oversee purchasing for the Wellforce system, including members Tufts Medical Center, Lowell General Hospital, NEQCA and Circle Health. Johnson and his team will work together to find efficiencies and synergies in the purchase of physician preference items, medical-surgical supplies and capital equipment. These savings for the health care system align with Wellforce's mission of delivering value to its patients - high quality care at lower costs.

Prior to joining Tufts MC, Johnson worked as the Director of Perioperative Services for Owen & Minor, a Virginia-based logistics company (2011-2013); as Director of Account Management at group purchasing organization Yankee Alliance (2005-2011); and as a Contract Analyst & Value Analysis Coordinator at Boston Children's Hospital (2000-2005). Johnson also served in the U.S. Army as an active duty Logistics Specialist (1996-2000).
